The Yard Driver is responsible for organizing the yard area to ensure trucks and trailers are ready for unloading, loading, and transport.
This role typical reports into the Operations Supervisor and is based in our Stockbridge Distribution Center.
How You'll Make an Impact
75%: Daily Operations
Place full trailers/containers into the receiving dock doors and move empty trailers/containers to the loading dock doors.
Place empty trailers/containers into the loading dock doors and seal and remover loaded trailers.
Maintain tracking log for trailer moves and dock assignments.
Coordinate traffic with Loss Prevention/Security
Maintain tracking log for trailer moves and dock assignments.
Conduct audits of yard Inventory.
Coordinate the daily delivery of express packages to UPS, FedEx, and USPS.
Responsible for refueling company vans and yard trucks, ensuring operational readiness and adherence to safety protocols.
Conduct training for candidates seeking yard driver positions, focusing on best practices to ensure competency and compliance.
Facilitate the transportation of supplies and inventory between distribution centers (DCs).
Responsible for observing housekeeping, safety and C-TPAT compliance in assigned area of responsibility; Stay within compliance of the company policies regarding safety.
25%: Support Functions
Perform other tasks as assigned, including pulling during low volume periods.
Support the Coordinator/Supervisor in all duties as assigned including all operational areas of the Distribution Center.

Must have:
You will operate an order picker or reach truck for most of your shift, so you must be able to pass the lift driver and safety certification.
Basic knowledge of WMOS, including scanner tasks and functions.
Team player willing to perform various job duties to support the department and the facility objectives and key performance indicators.
Ability to lift to 50 pounds repetitively, scan with RF equipment, bend, twist, and be on your feet for shifts up to 12 hours long.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others (Supervisors, Managers, and peers).
Flexibility to work overtime and comply with blackout periods (no vacation or personal time allowed) during peak periods.
A valid state-issued drivers’ license and a good driving record.
Preferred Skills and Experience
You will operate an order picker or reach truck for most of your shift, so you must be able to pass the lift driver and safety certification.
1-2 years’ experience operating equipment in an automated, fast-paced distribution environment preferred.
