Job Description
- Proactively lead the daily work for new development, sample fabric and bulk fabric related activities
- Subject Matter Expert for fabric dyeing, fabric printing and finishing, product safety and quality standards for the US market
- Expertise in all aspects of costing for designated fabric and supervise subordinates on product development & materials sourcing through clear liaison with suppliers, US counterparts / internal functional teams
- Strategically allocate Market Samples Yardage & bulk order to algin with Global Procurement strategies. Identify potential development, safety, quality or cost concerns
- Manage the team to work directly with mills onboarding, new fabric quality approval, print art technique, new fabrications and overall aesthetics
- Ensure the team to maintain accurate and timely system records, utilize data to analyze and report any concern
- Support management to provide data as needed, including costing request, mill performance and capacity review
- Advance understanding of mill relationship management and communicate with global partners
- Collaborate with cross function teams on orders related issues
- Develop the team capable for prioritizing competing demands to accelerate submit and sample yardage delivery
- Provide coaching to subordinates to upgrade their product knowledge, Merchandising skills and overall effectiveness
Job Requirements
- University degree, preferably major in Apparel / Textile or related discipline
- At least 10 years work experience in fabric, Minimum 7 years in a similar management capacity with 5+ years of supervisory responsibilities in buying/sourcing offices focused on USA and Canada markets
- Complete understanding of design, merchandising, and product development functions and able to lead the team to drive result
- Strong in managing vendor relationship with tight deadlines & challenging environment
- Familiar with order processing system to leverage data for planning / analysis
- Well-organized, strong analytical and good problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Proficient communication skills including written and spoken English & Bangla
- Strong PC skills, like MS Excel (Pivot table, Vlookup), Word and Outlook
