Summer Internship
The Intern Program is a formal 11-week summer program for current college students offering the opportunity to gain corporate experience. As a participant, you will contribute to meaningful projects as key members of their team, network with senior business leaders, and receive specialized professional development.

Are the Executive Development Program (EDP) roles full-time jobs?
Yes, EDP roles are full-time jobs. The EDP Program is a robust onboarding program intended to supplement on the job training. The program runs congruent with the first 6 months in the role that was accepted (i.e. Marketing Coordinator, Assistant Designer, etc.). After 6 months, the EDP graduates from the program as an EDP Alumni and continues in their current role, having benefited from the training, experiences and development.
What are the EDP requirements?
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the time of graduation (3.2 strongly preferred)
- On track to graduate with or recently completed a BS or BA degree
- Candidates for the January 2024 and June 2024 EDP classes are required to have graduated within 6 months of the class start date.
- Ability to start on one of the designated January or June program start dates
- Additional qualifications for specific EDP roles are detailed in the job posting (preferred majors, skills, etc.)
What are January 2024 and June 2024 start dates for EDP’s?
All of our positions have been filled for this year’s Executive Development Program. The exact dates for 2024 are still being determined. Each class (January and June) has three start dates to choose from. All EDPs will choose one of the designated start dates, and the program will kick off after the third and final start date.
When will Internship positions for Summer 2024 be posted on the website?
We plan to post our Summer 2024 Internship opportunities in the Fall.
What are the Intern Requirements?
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (3.2 strongly preferred)
- Enrollment in a Bachelor/Master’s degree program at the time of the internship (certificate programs are not eligible)
- Availability to start on the designated start date in May
- Availability to work for a minimum of 10 out of the 11 weeks of the defined internship period
What are the start date and end dates for the Intern Program?
All of our positions have been filled for the 2023 Summer Intern Program and our class has started. The exact dates for the 2024 class are still being determined. Typically, the Intern Program kicks off the Tuesday after Memorial Day and wraps up approximately 11 weeks later.
What are the Retail EDP requirements?
Candidates for the January 2024 and June 2024 EDP classes are required to have graduated within 6 months of the class start date.
What is the compensation for Interns, EDPs, or Retail EDPs?
We offer competitive rates for all of our college programs. Compensation expectations are discussed during the interview process. We do not allow unpaid internships.
Does Carter’s provide relocation assistance for those participating in the College Programs?
Carter’s offers housing stipends for eligible interns and a one-time sign-on bonus for our EDPs to assist with moving and relocation costs. Details on both benefits can be discussed with an HR representative during the interview process.
Does Carter’s provide sponsorship for any position in the College Program?
Most roles in the college program will not meet the qualifications needed to apply for sponsorship, however each role will be considered separately based on the minimum requirements of the position.
Are the programs remote?
No, they are hybrid and based in Atlanta, GA.
