How you’ll make an impact:

  The Inventory Analyst is responsible for the reporting and analysis of US Retail Inventory. This individual will work on the development, creation, and automation of inventory reporting using data from multiple systems, including Retail store RFID technology data. The Inventory Analyst is responsible for ensuring high inventory accuracy by analyzing data, understanding gaps, developing insights, and partnering cross-functionally to assist in developing solutions and actions plans.

Analysis & Reporting - 80%

  • Utilization of Tableau and SQL to develop, build, and enhance reporting.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Shrink Analysis using multiple data sets thru cross-database modeling.
  • Interpret data to find patterns or trends in the data that will help answer questions at hand.
  • Communicate the results of findings using data visualization tools and reports to interested parties.
  • Store-Item level analysis of inventory data against historical physical inventory count data, leveraging data from external databases to drive insights.
  • Perform data collection tests utilizing Tableau reporting to investigate the performance of inventory systems. Develop understanding of gaps or issues and report to management.
  • Support inventory reporting and work with cross functional partners to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Responsible for auditing and analyzing all inventory transactions for all stores. Responsible for auditing and adjusting any transactional errors on daily basis and implements solutions for root cause errors.
  • Responsible for daily "exception" reporting within the inventory sub-ledger, providing resolution and communication with stores, as required.
  • Responsible for reporting and analysis of periodic cycle inventory counts.
  • Investigate and resolve missing cartons, negative on-hands and other key inventory metrics and proactively work with Store Operations, Asset Protection, Allocations, IT, and Supply Chain to ensure procedures are followed.
  • Research data trends and inventory metrics at the chain, store, style, UPC levels, working with Operations, Asset Protection, Allocations, and Supply Chain to develop or improve current processes and procedures within our Retail business, while providing recommendations for overall business improvements.
  • Prepare, analyze, and monitor Key Performance Indicators that add value to overall inventory accuracy, providing explanations behind fluctuations and ideas of resolution and mitigating inventory risk where needed.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and communicating KPI inventory reports for purposes of store Responsible for other miscellaneous analysis, reporting, and projects.

Cross Functional Partnerships - 20%

  • Cross-functionally partners with internal teams, such as RFID, Omni-Channel, DBA, and IT to assist in Inventory initiatives.
  • Partner with the business for inventory related research and analysis.
  • Serve as a contact for all stores for any inventory questions including missing cartons, carton discrepancy, theft, freight, charitable donations, transfers, etc. Provide timely responses to emails received in the regional inventory inboxes.
  • Collaborate with team to find solutions to real time issues that arise in the field level inventory accuracy initiatives, high shrink areas, trend analysis, etc.

  • Highly analytical with proven ability to proactively leverage data to improve the business operations.

  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Tableau and SQL knowledge.
  • Experience working in merchandising systems and ability to learn new systems as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent team player who works well in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance or Accounting.
  • 1-2 years of experience.
  • Experience working in high volume transactional environment a plus.
  • Preference will be given for retail inventory experience.
