As the Lead Salesforce Architect, you will be and integral part of the eCommerce development team, guiding platform API usage, data architecture, and third-party integrations for Carter's.
For you to succeed in this role, you will need to be technically adept, a forward thinker, a strong leader, and someone who thrives on collaboration.
While Remote, this Candidate must reside in the lower 48, and is only available for FTE W2 employment. 9-5 Eastern Standard Time is the operational hours for the role.
What You'll Do:
Architecture & Design (60%)
Participate in efforts to raise eCommerce stability, performance, and reduce technical debt.
Participate in the definition of architecture approaches during annual, quarterly, and sprint-level planning.
Advise on platform best practices, discussing various approaches to how a given problem may be solved.
Support Carter’s product team in feature development scoping and prioritization.
Become the resident SME on Carter’s Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) codebase and OCAPI/SCAPI configurations.
Lead and Perform Development (30%)
Actively participate through all phases of the project cycle from ideation to post-implementation stabilization.
Work with business and technical peers to define how best to meet requirements, balancing speed & robustness.
Partner with QA and Cybersecurity to support testing activities i.e. integration, regression, and security testing.
Follow Carter's coding best practices, including secure coding.
Engage and collaborate with stakeholders via the Agile process, identifying and mitigating risks & issues as needed.
Assist in the incorporation of DevSecOps principles into the development ecosystem, partnering with peer areas.
Review code delivered by Third Party development firms, and provide pull request feedback and approvals.
Provide Operational Support (10%)
Contribute to code and asset management, troubleshooting bugs within a complex, global code base.
Assist in Tier 2 support efforts to triage & resolve issues and prevent issues at the code & configuration level.
Comply with established policies and standards for Change management, incident management, and security.
Participate in the configuration & tuning of website and related code/software bundles & third-party integrations.
Function as backup or hands-on during any high-volume time periods that occur frequently throughout the Retail calendar year (Easter/Holy Week, Back to School, Tax-Free, Labor Day, Black Friday, and December Holiday)
Availability to periodically work nights, weekends, or holidays as support issues and business needs demand, e.g. production deployments, scheduled on-call support / unscheduled emergency support.
What You Need / Job Requirements:
Extensive experience developing/architecting in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC, formerly Demandware) - REQUIRED.
Experience is preferred in the following Extended Focus areas:
Caching / performance tuning, 3rd party APIs & Service integrations.
Headless Commerce on the SFCC platform e.g., OCAPI, SCAPI, etc.
Working knowledge of DevSecOps and Site Reliability concepts.
Working knowledge of Build, Testing, Continuous Integration / Delivery & monitoring platforms.
Experience working with 3rd party vendors for technology solution delivery.
Capable of balancing technology ideals and business objectives, evaluating options and implications.
Flexible in the technologies to be used and willing to adapt to an evolving tech stack/development toolset.
Prior work experience and educational requirements
6+ years experience in end-to-end development expertise on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC, Demandware)
4+ years experience in software development using Agile (Scrum and/or Kanban), preferred.
