HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Manager, DC Communication and Engagement supports the Carter’s distribution network by providing strategic planning and thought leadership in the areas of associate communication and engagement, including serving as the lead for community outreach. This role partners with corporate COEs and local DC HRBP leaders to strategize and execute corporate and DC initiatives. This individual contributor role dual reports to the Director HR - Braselton and the Sr. Director, HR - Global Distribution and is based in our Braselton DC, with one day per week at our Buckhead office and local travel to our Stockbridge distribution center once per month.
30% DC Network Communication and Engagement Strategy
- Design and oversee the communication, engagement, and community strategy for all Carter’s distribution centers, in collaboration with corporate Centers of Excellence (COEs) and local HR Business Partners (HRBPs).
- Lead as the "Community Captain" for Carter’s Cares partnerships, creating strategies to implement corporate initiatives across the network and establishing best practices for the DCs in partnership with the corporate COE.
- Coordinate resources, messaging, and communication methods network-wide to ensure consistent and effective communication with our large, hourly workforce.
- Identify and implement technology solutions to enhance and streamline communication and engagement capabilities across all DC locations.
- Develop and provide the necessary frameworks and tools to local HR teams for executing communication/engagement events and initiatives within their facilities.
- Collaborate with local HRBPs to create and align annual engagement calendars, considering the unique needs and peak periods of each distribution center.
- Formulate strategies to engage diverse cultures within the workforce, including partnering with local community organizations to foster inclusive engagement.
- Lead network-wide initiatives to address multi-language translation needs, ensuring effective communication across diverse employee groups.
70% Braselton Communication and Engagement Execution
- Manage the execution of corporate and DC communication strategies, identifying the best method/medium and timing
- Develop communication - including copy and design - for a variety of internal communication mediums including, but not limited to email broadcasts, information boards, electronic displays, etc.
- Ensure organizational DC and company initiatives are communicated timely, accurately and effectively to appropriate stakeholders
- Develop the annual engagement calendar including town hall meetings, associate appreciation events, sample events,
- Manage and executes recognition programs such as Associate of the Quarter, milestone anniversaries, birthday boards, etc.
- Plan and execute community outreach events and initiatives - both onsite and offsite - in alignment with the Company and DC strategy
- Craft messaging for the Emergency Notification and COSI systems; serves as back-up for sending
- Manages and tracks incentive gift cards
- Manage training tracking to ensure compliance to maximize tax credit incentives
- Own and manage onsite food-service vendor relationships
WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF: Must Have:
- 3+ years managing engagement and communication initiatives with large, diverse, hourly workforces
- Proven experience in multicultural and/or multilingual settings
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with expertise in engaging large, hourly workforces in multi-shift environments
- Keen eye for detail, branding, and aesthetic as it relates to associate-facing communications
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
- Strong strategic thinking with the capability to manage daily operations effectively
- Ability to influence and connect with internal and external stakeholders - Skilled in planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects
- Capable of thriving in a dynamic environment while maintaining focus on priorities
- Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions
- Proven experience with accurate data handling and analysis
- Willingness to work across various shifts and extended hours as required by the business Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in recruiting and talent selection
- Experience as an HR Generalist with supervisory responsibilities - Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
