Essential Job functions

Personnel Management, Project Management, Personnel Management and Continuous Improvement (70%)

  • Ensure that the Networking Systems team delivers high quality, timely, and relevant support to end users

  • Manage scheduling, staffing, and evaluation of team members

  • Maintains and monitors the health and effectiveness of Corporate Network & related Security systems (firewalls, load balancers, etc.)

  • Direct project activities of the Network team, insuring adherence to established PLC methodology

  • Maintain the documentation and operating procedures of all systems, configurations, and operating standards

  • Develop and maintain standard systems performance reporting and statistics for all production Network Systems

  • Audits and evaluates the performance of functional area and recommends whatever action is necessary to ensure that objectives and goals are achieved efficiently

  • Reviews security and compliance requirements and controls (PCI, SOX, NIST)

  • Collaborates closely with IT/Business peers to ensure security controls and objectives are aligned and integrated

Networking Systems Support (30%)

  • Maintain 24x7x365 on call support for Networking Systems

  • Manage Networking Systems technical problems; quickly identifying, addressing, and resolving issues

  • Support infrastructure elements such as equipment racks, structured cabling, fiber interconnects

  • Provide WAN support, including SDWAN, Metro Ethernet, remote access & vendor VPN connections

  • Support firewalls for PCI test and production, Corporate Internet, and Vendor/Supplier WAN connections

  • Maintain Enterprise Wireless connectivity

Supervisory / Budgetary / External communication responsibility

  • Responsible for managing a small Network Services team

  • Responsible for managing vendor relationships relating to Network Services

  • Assists with managing overall IT expense / capital budgets

  • Primary point of contact for representing Network Services: will respond to all inquiries & requests

Secondary functions

  • Understands and supports the Company’s goals and objectives, and makes certain that his/her actions and decisions are consistent with them

  • Keeps his/her superior informed of all matters of importance and particularly those instances where deviations from planned results are likely to occur

  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned by his/her superior

  • Function as back up or hands-on assistance during high volume time periods

Knowledge, skill, and ability requirements

  • Superior customer service skills a must

  • Strong level of analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Vigorous attention to detail and documentation skills

  • Broad understanding of Cisco/Meraki and Fortinet LAN/WAN infrastructure, design, and adherence to best practices

  • Design, plan, and implement complex cloud network configurations within AWS and other public cloud providers

  • Understands DR planning and execution, maintaining an active DR plan for Network Services

Prior work experience and educational requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years IT experience managing networks in a corporate environment supporting 1000+ users

  • Experience with an International Company/Agency a plus

  • Knowledge of Retail IT environment a plus
