This Order Management Systems (OMS) Lead Developer will play a key role within the Retail Technology organization and will focus on the business-critical Order Management initiatives while working with our primarily IBM Sterling-based OMS platform. They will help lead project delivery, support investigations, participate in software development, and work with the business.
While Remote, applicants must reside in the lower 48 states, and the reporting structure is EST-Based.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
(40%) Project/Initiative Delivery:
The Lead Developer will be key to Implementing OMS solutions.
Available to work evenings and weekend in case of critical production issue to provide input to support team, triage and restore regular flow.
Liaise with other internal IT resources (technical and functional) to execute business initiatives
Actively participate/contribute in brainstorming/working sessions and bring new ideas
Responsible for translating business requirements into specific systems, applications or process design at the direction of Solution Architect or Manager of OMS
Responsible for the configuration and development of the technical solution and coordinating and supporting of Integrated Testing.
(25%) Relationship Management and Communication
Ability to facilitate decision-making with key stakeholders
Exemplary communication skills (written, presentation, meeting management, documentation)
Collaborates and works with functional and system analysts, developers, architects and project managers on a wide range of initiatives, including software development, package installation and infrastructure upgrades and changes.
(25%) Issue Resolution and SOX Compliance
Support OMS applications - to include analysis and root cause resolution of operational issues as they arise
Follow SOX guidelines defined by Corporate in support of Service management and Issue resolution.
(10%) Budgeting / Administration and others
Create and manage Project Documentation.
Support or provide inputs to PM’s or Project Leads in estimating resources and effort.

Must have:
6+ years of Sterling Commerce OMS experience. (Preferable OMS on cloud)
Lead the design, development, and implementation of solutions on the IBM Sterling OMS platform.
Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of projects.
Hands-on experience with Sourcing/scheduling, various fulfilment types (STH, BOPIS, BOSS) and payment processing, OMS API's, agents, and services
Some knowledge of IV would be beneficial.
Strong knowledge of Java, XML, XSL and SQL querying skills.
Provide tier-3 support for production issues related to OMS, ensuring timely resolution.
Guide the team in best practices, code reviews, and advanced troubleshooting.
Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
Mentor and upskill developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Collaborate with Business users, Analysts & Technical team - Capture functional requirements and translate into technical specifications, design and Implement new solutions , upgrades, configuration, development, training, documentation, etc.to support business directives
Integrated Testing, UAT management; Problem Resolution, Debugging, Troubleshooting
Preferred skills and experience:
Experience with other IBM Sterling products, such as Call Center.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
Understanding of emerging business solutions, technologies, and delivery methodologies in the retail and/or supply chain sector.
Ability to systematically gather relevant information from different sources to address an issue and make a prompt and insightful decision.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills including such areas as team spirit, negotiation, collaboration, pitching in where needed, and respecting individuals at all levels.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Prior work experience:
At least 6-7 years of experience in developing Order Management and/or, Retail and/or Supply chain management solutions.
At least 6-7 years of experience with database systems and writing SQL queries and procedures.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
