This role typical reports into the Senior Manager, Payroll and is based in our Buckhead office in our hybrid work environment
- Process multiple frequency multi-state payrolls for over 13,000 employees
- Review and reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Process accurate and timely period, quarterly, and year-end task as required
- Research, analyze and resolves payroll related problems or questions
- Recommend or participate in the development of new procedures and policies related to payroll operations
- Process garnishments which includes child supports, tax levies, student loans, etc.
- Process manual checks for immediate pay, dropped employees, payouts, lost or destroyed checks
- Provide answers and documents for the Government Census (Excellent Excel skills)
- Participate in formal skills training, cross-training and succession planning
- Collaborate and build proactive, positive relationship with peers, managers, outside vendors (ADP, Mailroom) to ensure global best practices and consistency within processes
- Audit for accuracy and reasonability, and then approve submission of biweekly, monthly and off cycle global payrolls.
- Create ad hoc reports on demand for internal and external needs.
- Compile payroll statistics, policies and procedures and service level agreement (SLA’s) updates.
- Send out missed punch report and complete sign offs for all non-exempt employees biweekly and export file into payroll system.
- Update company tables in payroll system as well as general ledger system.
- Ensure steps are taken with every payroll to assist the accounting team with recon issues/inquiries.
- Process tax inquiries and paymentsreporting including WOTC for tax credit per pay period and SUI updates upon receipt.
- Assist manager with implementation of new defined and efficient policies and procedures, best practices to the goal of 100% accuracy and timeliness.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including SOX and regulatory compliance
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor and manager

Must have:
- Payroll processing

- Experience with US and Canadian payroll
Preferred skills and experience:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and attention to detail in high volume and fast paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
- Energetic and positive approach to problem solving and trouble-shooting issues, can take tasks and run with it
- Approach deadlines with a sense of urgency, energetic and positive approach to problem solving and trouble-shooting issues
- Demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
- Accurately execute multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment
- High level knowledge of multistate payroll and tax withholding, benefits (health and welfare and retirement), garnishments, and labor compliance and basic accounting procedures related to payroll.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Team player who can build strong relationship with all members of the organization as well as outsourced vendor partners.
- PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Five plus years of work experience in a payroll, tax and garnishment s working with multiple state / multiple entity corp. environment.
- Certified Payroll Professional preferred but not required
- ADP Enterprise V5 experience
