Essential Job functions

Quality Assurance functions:

  • Prepares the quality reports for Corporate, including Inspectorio’s database maintenance and update.
  • Follows up suppliers’ chargebacks with the factories in Asia due to quality related reworks.
  • Serves as liaison with Corporate Quality Assurance about quality concerns: QA holds, rejects, reworks, issues.
  • Receives and executes quality measures requested by Corporate QA.
  • Helps with administrative paperwork in the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Coordinates NOM product verification with Imports and the Verification Unit (UVA).
  • Prepares operating manuals and SOPs.
  • Proposes process improvements.
  • Pulls, prepares and customizes technical specs from Flex system for the Third Party Manufacturers suppliers for local production.
  • Supervises the in-site customers’ audits (Walmart - Sam’s).

SUPERVISORY / BUDGETARY / EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY

  • This position has 5 direct reports.
  • Communicates effectively with Internal and External partners, coordinating distribution of information.
  • Works with 3PL partners, customers’ audit teams, verification units (UVA), QA labs and Carters’ stakeholders.

Secondary functions

  • Works with the Quality Assurance and Local Manufacturing Manager and the business in strategic projects to prospect future needs of the Company to support growth.
  • Ad-hoc reporting.

Prior work experience and educational requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Industrial Engineering or Textile Engineering with specialization in Quality.
  • 5 year experience working in Quality Assurance, preferably in the apparel industry of finished goods.
  • Proficient in PC use including strong skills in MS Windows and Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word)
  • Fluent in English language.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work in a standard office setting / 3PL operations floor.
