Essential Job functions (Tasks, duties and responsibilities most important for the Job)

* Remove cartons/boxes from conveyor line and stack on pallets following sort instructions

* Shrink wrap pallets manually and/or using shrink wrap machine

* Use pallet jack to move pallets in/out of pack and hold locations, navigate throughout shipping department and loading trailers

* Follow safety procedures to operate manual pallet jack

* Use scanner to anchor stacked cartons/boxes on pallet to pallet card and verify loads

* Follow all safety procedures when loading trailers

* Cartons/boxes loaded in trailers using the brick stack method

* Work quickly and accurately in a production environment

* Keep work area clean and neat, free from clutter

Prior Work Experience and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to drive electric pallet jack
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals in English. Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one with co-workers’ and supervisor.
  • Ability to accurately count, add, subtract, multiply and divide simple whole numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of measure in regards to numbers, weight and volume.
  • Ability to apply basic understanding to carry out detailed written and/ or oral instructions. Ability to resolve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to ask for help when solution is unknown or questionable.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of windows operating systems, be able to follow command prompts on screen and use keyboard/mouse to enter basic information.
