The Senior Content Architect will play a pivotal role in defining how our organization delivers content through our headless CMS, Contentful. They will be a key member of our Information Technology team, collaborating closely with our UX/UI and Creative teams to create pixel-perfect content models and types that resonate with our audience and drive engagement. They will also be an important voice in our personalization technology efforts.
This role typically reports to the Senior Manager of Martech Solutions Marketing IT.
While Remote, this role reports to an EST-Based team, and must reside in the lower 48.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
Leadership 50%
Own deployment and release management for content and personalization platforms across the marketing technology space
Ensure quality of delivery across content development team
Review third party code to ensure it meets the standards Carter’s requires for performance, scalability, and security
Assist other developers through pair programming or reviewing tech spec documentation
Surface new ideas to help improve ways of working for the development team
React Development 40%
Develop new user-facing features using React.js and the Contentful API (or any CMS utilized)
Optimize site code for speed and resiliency
Work closely with product and UX teams to ensure requirements are clearly defined
Size work as sprint planning ceremonies are followed
Production Support 10%
Participate in production support, particularly during times of high volume and peak times
Assist in the preparation of robust documentation to support content development and management procedures
Adhere to established Problem and Change management procedures

Must haves:
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, be a proficient problem solver, and acquire new skills quickly and thrive in a collaborative team environment
Understand industry trends and champion modern tools, frameworks and practices
Knowledge of accessibility, SEO and UX aspects of frontend development
Possess a strong knowledge of code standards and best practices
Preferred skills and experience:
Bachelor's Degree in technology or related field and/or equivalent professional front-end experience
5+ years’ experience designing and developing front-end/presentation layer code for e-commerce websites or other enterprise applications
