How You'll Make an Impact:

Lead the hands-on optimization and strategic enhancement of SAP and Hyperion within our dynamic IT Finance Systems team. As a key player, you'll provide thought leadership, actively manage day-to-day operations, and drive the execution of a multi-year technical roadmap, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and collaborating across multifunctional teams.

This role reports to the VP, Program Management, IT Finance and Strategy, has 2 direct reports and is based in our Atlanta Phipps office in our hybrid work environment.

(60%) Hands-On IT Finance Systems Optimization and Oversight

  • Take a hands-on approach to strategically optimize existing SAP and Hyperion systems, focusing on maximizing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead day-to-day operations, implementing improvements and refinements within the current technology landscape.
  • Drive the enhancement of existing solutions, collaborating closely with the team to align improvements with business objectives.
  • Streamline and innovate business processes, policies, and workflows within the Finance/Accounting function, actively participating in documentation efforts.
  • Directly manage application lifecycle within the finance function, emphasizing hands-on involvement in process enhancement and innovation.
  • Oversee and guide direct reports, actively participating in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Conduct architectural reviews and evaluations of technical solutions, with an emphasis on refining and enhancing the current landscape.
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills focused on system optimization.

(20%) Tactical Direction Setting, Communication, Relationship Management

  • Craft and communicate a detailed roadmap for optimizing existing IT Finance systems, focusing on execution of upgrades and incremental improvements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business partners through direct engagement, bridging the gap between business requirements and IT capabilities.
  • Stay informed about market best practices and tools, actively applying expertise to enhance current systems.
  • Collaborate with the broader IT organization to execute strategic and tactical initiatives, providing leadership to optimize existing systems.
  • Take a direct role in hiring, retaining, and developing business/IT analysts and project resources focused on optimization and growth efforts.

(10%) Budgeting/Administration

  • Develop and monitor budgets for IT Finance Systems optimization driving cost-effective measures to enhance existing capabilities.
  • Lead a team of Sr Solution Analysts, business analysts, and managers in addressing issues, implementing process improvements, and innovating existing Finance systems solutions.

(10%) Security, Risk, and Compliance

  • Manage compliance with change management processes, internal controls, and security monitoring for all finance systems, emphasizing risk mitigation within the existing technology landscape.
  • Enforce internal and external audit requirements related to existing systems.

Must have:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of finance business process functions and exhibit the ability to identify inefficiencies, strategically analyze challenges, and deploy targeted solutions using financial technology systems to optimize overall process efficiency. This includes a proven track record of streamlining processes, enhancing workflows, and implementing improvements within the technology landscape.
  • The ability to craft and communicate a comprehensive roadmap for optimizing IT Finance systems is crucial. A strong candidate should have strategic leadership skills to guide the team, make informed decisions, and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills are essential. Must be adept at leading and coordinating hands-on projects, managing budgets effectively, and ensuring that optimization initiatives are delivered on time and within scope.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Finance business process, consulting, problem definition, architecture, design, solutions evaluation, validation, direction setting, and deployment required
  • Experience navigating and driving positive change in dynamic environments. Adaptability to diverse perspectives and openness to incorporating new ideas are crucial for optimizing existing systems successfully.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Masters in Finance, Accounting, or Information Technology required
  • Ideally will have experience with SAP and Hyperion including Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Essbase.
