How you’ll make an impact:
The Talent Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of Leadership Development Programs across Retail Stores, Distribution Centers, and Global Offices. This role assists in aligning program objectives with leadership, HR, and Talent Development goals, ensuring that programs are impactful and well-executed. The Talent Development Specialist works closely with senior leaders to promote a high-performance culture to drive business.
This position reports to the Manager of Talent Development and Leadership Development Programs and is based primarily in our Buckhead office.
Field Leadership Development Programs (60%)
- Assist in designing and executing leadership development programs for DC and Retail Stores, ensuring the content focuses on management skills and business objectives, while helping to develop scalable and adaptable materials for various field audiences and leadership levels.
- Support the identification of leadership needs in partnership with key stakeholders and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Support delivery of leadership programs, ensuring consistent, high-quality execution both in-person and virtually.
- Plan and coordinate training logistics; including day-of event organization, scheduling and distribution of curriculum.
- Track and report on program effectiveness and business impact. Provide insights and data to stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Gather feedback and champion process improvements and innovation to optimize delivery of program content and refine programs.
- Stay informed on leadership development trends to maintain competitive programs.
College Relations Programs (25%)
- Act as Program Lead for College Relations Programs (Executive Development Program & Intern Program)
- Contribute to the development and design of program content to ensure an engaging experience for participants and enhance their understanding of the company’s business and culture.
- Support the creation of program materials and activities, focusing on participant engagement, content delivery, and industry research to improve program effectiveness.
- Lead the communication and coordination with participants, managers, and HR Business Partners during various phases of the program
- Collaborate with the College Recruiting team to track program metrics and assist with reporting and analysis to assess program success and areas for improvement
Talent Development Programs (15%)
- Support the design, development, and execution of company-wide programs like Mentor Partnership and Toastmasters, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
- Assist in the marketing and communication of Learning & Development programs, helping to drive employee participation through engaging content on Carter’s Intranet and collaboration with leaders and HR Business Partners.
- Track program performance and assist in evaluating impact, identify opportunities for program improvements and communicate to stakeholders.
We’d Love to hear from you if:
Must have:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in training and development in a Retail Store and/or Distribution Center environment
- Project Management: Effectively lead, organize, and prioritize multiple large-scale initiatives to ensure successful execution and alignment with strategic goals
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrates strong critical thinking and analytical skills to propose solutions, balances and prioritizes tasks (High-level expertise with PowerPoint and Excel)
- Able to work independently, self-motivated, demonstrates curiosity and takes initiative
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- 25% travel to Distribution Centers and Stores
- Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred skills and experience:
- Operation, Store, or Distribution Center Management experience (preferred)
